Technologists reaffirm their commitment to patient

Hospitals in the Columbus area will recognize National Radiologic Technology Week® through special events in the radiology/imaging departments. One area hospital will be creating displays showcasing each of the Radiologic technology modalities so the public can become more familiar with each modality and what it contributes to diagnostic imaging. The hospitals will be bringing public attention to the technologists who work in their departments and will be honoring them with various activities throughout the week. Radiology students from Columbus Technical College will be participating in these events. During NRTW, radiologic technologists reaffirm their commitment to patient health, increase awareness about the profession and celebrate the importance of their contributions to the medical community.Columbus Technical College (Georgia)

Hard working employees in the radiology field

Each year radiologic technologists around the country join in celebrating National Radiologic Technology Week®, an event that commemorates the discovery of the X-ray in 1895 and recognizes the dedicated professional practicing in the radiologic sciences. A vital link in patient care, radiologic technology provides the means by which pathologies may be determined, treatment planned and administered, and patient health restored.

Millennium Staffing Inc. celebrates National Radiologic Technology Week® with a new website. The annual event is recognized in November, and coincides with Wilhelm Conrad Roentgen’s discovery of X-rays on November 8, 1895. NRTW has become an annual event recognizing radiologic technologists across the nation, to celebrate and promote their hard work and important contributions to health care. Roentgen discovered X-rays in his laboratory, and revolutionized science and medicine as we know it. He could have never predicted that the art of imaging would be so specifically organized and professed by a group of radiologic technologists who take such pride in their career.

Millennium Staffing Inc. would like to take this opportunity to give a “high five” to all of its hard working employees in the radiology field and looks forward to a healthy, robust relationship with you in the coming year.

Importance of medical imaging and radiation

The Department of Radiologic Sciences exhibited poster displays in the Health Sciences Riverside building. This was in observance of National Radiologic Technology Week®, an annual event that celebrates the importance of medical imaging and radiation oncology. During this week the national organization, Alliance for Quality Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy, held a virtual march on Capitol Hill to encourage lawmakers to co-sponsor and enact the Consistency, Accuracy, Responsibility and Excellence in Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy bill, or CARE bill (H.R. 583 and S. 1042).
