Registered technologist, rather than a student.

After nearly two years of clinical training at Brigham and Women’s Hospital (BWH), Daniel Young joined his colleagues in celebrating National Radiologic Technology Week© for the first time as a registered technologist, rather than a student. Young is among 200 radiologic technologists celebrated by the hospital last week with an array of events including a lecture series, a poster presentation and a buffet dinner. Technologists also received jackets with their department logo. The events recognized the work of radiographers and also highlighted the success of those who have trained at BWH, and BWH’s commitment to training the next generation of technologists. “We offer the best training because today’s students are tomorrow’s radiologic technologists,” said Carl Patturelli, RT, MEd, MBA, director of Education for Radiology. Angela Covington recently was hired as a radiologic technologist. “I hope to celebrate many more of these weeks in the future,” said Covington. BWH Bulletin (Massachusetts)

Thanks for your information. Many radiology students wanted to become a registered technologist. However, there is some good college, which does offer such radiology programs, which are helpful for them to establish their career as a registered radiology technician.
